Australian Gamer Previews Dawn of the Dragon

Video game news site Australian Gamer sat down with Tantalus Interactive - developers of the DS version of Dawn of the Dragon - and were given the chance to try it out.

Quote:
Overall I was rather impressed with what Tantalus Interactive had to show us. If this is just the alpha of Spyro: DOTD, things can certainly only get better from here. The controls are easy to master (maybe except for the dreaded 'wall jump'!!), the visuals are clean, the sound quality is great. I could go on for ages here, but I want to leave myself something to talk about if I am lucky enough to review the final copy of Spyro.

Size Matters

Today's GameFAQs' Top 10 List was about the biggest environments in video games. Number ten on that list was Spyro:

Quote:
#10: Spyro the Dragon (PS)

The first game on this list is one of the first games I remember thinking had a big game environment. Spyro the Dragon was up there as one of the first PS games, and its environment is big, but not colossal. The reason it's on the list is because of the many different levels and secrets Spyro's world contains, which really combine to make one of the earliest "Big" games. Spyro will no doubt always be in my mind when I think of big game environments.

Spyro the Dragon: Wings of Fury

Get ready to play Spyro the Dragon: Wings of Fury!

No, it's not a new Spyro game (at least not a fully new game). It's a mini game that has been added to Spyro's Lair.

To access it go to the Lair. Then click "Activities" at the top of the screen. It's the bottom right game.

Battle through ten levels of shooting and flight for an exciting conclusion!

Enjoy!

Happy playing!

Eternal Night's Soundtrack Hits iTunes

Thanks to a tip from our good friend Becky Kneubuhl, we now know that the soundtrack for The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is available through iTunes. It's twenty tracks ring in at $9.99 or .99 cents a track.

Check it out!

Except poor Gabriel Mann, he helped Becky compose the music but he wasn't credited! Everyone remember when you buy the soundtrack that Gabe helped, too!

Hind Site: They're Alive!

We like to direct you to the best of the Spyro sites - past or present. Today we bring you a site from the present.

Spyro's Lair and the Dawn of the Dragon website have been updated, if only slightly.

Although not accessible from the main site, there is a wallpaper at the site with concept art of the four dragon guardians that shows their overhauled detail for the upcoming game - adding scales and the like:

The About section has been updated, too, with a short description of the game:

Quote:
Three long years have passed since Spyro and Cynder were trapped in the crystal, since then Malefor has unleashed his evil onto the world. In this third chapter of the epic Legend of Spyro trilogy, Spyro must fulfill his destiny and face the Dark Master. As evil spreads over the world, Spyro and Cynder must discover new abilities and unlock their true powers to defeat Malefor and stop him from destroying the world.

Check out the site updates.

Thanks goes to Vitani333 of the forum for finding the wallpaper.
