Elijah Wood Not (Necessarily) Voicing Spyro In The Film Version

Although any news about the Spyro flick has been scarce, in an interview yesterday with Moviefone promoting his upcoming film, "9", Elijah Wood was asked about Spyro's silver screen adventure:

Quote:
You voiced the titular dragon in the 'The Legend of Spyro' video game. Will you be lending your voice to the film adaptation as well?

You know, it's funny. People have mentioned that to me. I'm not attached to do that. I know that there's talk of that. I did the video game [laughs]. I don't know if I'll do that or not. It'd be fun to carry on the character, but I'm not officially attached to that yet.

Either the project is dead, in limbo, or carrying on without Elijah. There's no way of knowing but 2009 looks to be the first year without some sort of Spyro installment.

I would be extremely upset if Elijah didn't happen to provide the voice for Spyro. To me, he was born for it!

That sucks, on all the pages for the movie (DarkSpyro.net, IMDB, etc.) it shows Elijah as Spyro's voice. This just shows they haven't voiced Spyro yet (unless they've crammed it all in already and made it sound real bad <.>), meaning the "April 2010" release date is yet, another lie related to the upcoming Spyro movie.
