Today's GameFAQs' Top 10 List was about the biggest environments in video games. Number ten on that list was Spyro:

Spyro the Dragon was up there as one of the first PS games, and its environment is big, but not colossal. The reason it's on the list is because of the many different levels and secrets Spyro's world contains, which really combine to make one of the earliest "Big" games. Spyro will no doubt always be in my mind when I think of big game environments.

No mention of Haven City in Jak 2 or the desert wastelands in Jak 3? I swear that the former was just as big as Bullworth Town at least and the latter to be at least twice as big.

But still, very comprehensive big-ups to the open ended structures of gaming and all :)

I know what you mean Rexy, all the jak game had 1 level, and no loading screens. Take Jak and Daxter (Jake 1) for example, they are one of the biggest games ever...
