Eternal Night's Soundtrack Hits iTunes

Thanks to a tip from our good friend Becky Kneubuhl, we now know that the soundtrack for The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night is available through iTunes. It's twenty tracks ring in at $9.99 or .99 cents a track.

Check it out!

Except poor Gabriel Mann, he helped Becky compose the music but he wasn't credited! Everyone remember when you buy the soundtrack that Gabe helped, too!

I want the soundtrack! D: Curse you, iTunes. You and your law-breaking inaccessibility. :( Sierra could easily put these soundtracks up for sale on their Spyro sites and make the money directly.

I am surprised they did not include Gabrial Mann since he also did the work too.

Excellent! Now I have to try and figure out how to buy the soundtrack as an import... damnit for not even showing up on the UK iTunes store.

Never mind, I figured it out. Yay, US iTunes cards on UK eBay. :)

Okay, after close listening, I could see that some of the tracks are indeed broken. More were but got fixed as the day went on, yet the problem has persisted with these tracks -

CD1: "Swamp Night" (stops after 1 second), "Temple Raid" (stops after 15 seconds), "Grove Action" (stops before the 3 minute mark), "Skavenger Escape" (stops at 1:10)

CD2: "Temple Action" (stops at around 1:30), "Mount Malefor" (stops with just 15 seconds left!!), "Well of Souls" (stops before 2 minutes passed), "Black Powers" (stops at 2:20), "This Broken Soul" (not even past the first chorus!!)

Has anyone actually got to download these tracks perfectly, with no long patches of silence either?

Now I wish I hadn't rushed to buy it as soon as I heard it was up. I wonder how long it'll take them to fix it; it took them so long to put it up in the first place...

If only This Broken Soul worked, I wouldn't mind waiting for the rest of the album. :(

Let's see if I can find these songs on Galbadia Hotel.

*searches*

Nope. Oh well. When they get on there, I'll download them for free. Just like the first Spyro game songs on my computer.....^_^

If you pay for a soundtrack song, and it stops working after a certain period of time, do you have to re-purchase it when it is fixed or can you get it fixed for free?

I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm assuming that we might get a collective letter of apology from Sierra or something.

Furthermore, I passed the news on to Becky through the MySpace messaging system last night. I received a response a few hours ago:

"hi bev-

thanks for writing
i'm so sorry about the corrupted files! that's SO aggravating, especially given how long it took for the soundtrack to get up there, and then to have gabe's credit missing. grr. i will notify the producers at sierra, but i don't have any idea how long that might take to get fixed. if you tell me which tracks were corrupted, that would be extremely helpful.

best,
becky"

I passed the details on what songs were affected by this and I hope she should be able to forward this to the Sierra project personnel. The least we can do now is just hope that everything will be alright.

Thanks, and keep us updated. I plan on purchasing the soundtrack.
