Even though you shouldn't be here reading this - this is your day of no commitments - we wanted to wish all you mothers a happy day.

And if you're not a mother - shame on you, you should be with your mothers - but even so, wish your mothers well on her day for us.

And that got us wondering: has your mom ever played Spyro? If that answer is yes, what Spyro games has she played? Did she like them? If she hasn't tried them why not? Not a gamer? You've never tried to share your Spyro love?

Dude, we non-Americans already celebrated Mother's Day 2 months ago. But still, happy Mother's Day out there anyways.

Truth be told, my mother isn't much of a gamer; moreover, when she has free time she has preferences to puzzles (usually crosswords, logic puzzles and some of the Japanese variety) for when she needs a bit of a workout. Her only gaming experiences are amidst the puzzle genre (namely Tetris and Dr. Mario) and her sole Wii experience had been a couple of games of Wii Sports bowling.

She seems happy enough with me being a Spyro fan and all. Heck, she even understood my feelings to the point that she helped figure out where to put the poster I ordered a few weeks back (claiming it'll be my "most favorite one" or something). And she even thought that I could have asked for Spyro: Shadow Legacy when I propsed to get a DS for Christmas 2005, when in the end I wanted it bundled with Sonic Rush due to the former's weedier-than-usual reception.

In other words, she rarely plays games and when she does she doesn't play anything other than stuff that involves logic, yet she understands my gaming passions. Simple as that.

My mom has never played Spyro, but she's always been an awesome lady. She raised two little girls and got her college degree all on her own, and now she's raising my little brother. She's got a great laugh and is almost more like a big sister. She's the best mom ever and, though I can't spend the day with her (she's about 1,500 miles away) I'll be calling her today for sure. :)
