Even though we haven't had any updates on the 2009 Spyro film lately, it's still in production. A new Variety article briefly mentions Velvet Octopus - the company behind the film - and includes a mention of the Spyro movie.

Well, I guess even though it's official, Sierra and Velvet Octopus is probably waiting for the release of Dawn of the Dragon to even start releasing information about the movie....

If they start releasing information about the movie at the same time as the game, well, that wouldn't be a wise marketing decision at all!
