Spyro Media Friday: Double Dip
Today I decided to post two neat Spyro videos. The first is a very cool advertisement for the mobile version of TEN. Not even the ads for the console version were this fancy!
I want that horned Spyro-themed cell phone! The ad can be seen here in higher quality, but I'm not able to embed it.
The second video for today is a recently discovered cheat code. Even though Spyro: Year of the Dragon came out way back in 2000, this cheat code was only just discovered. It allows you to scroll through characters and listen to everything they said. It only allows you to listen to the lines of the characters from whatever level/hub you're currently in. It's interesting how this managed to evade discovery for over seven years!
To do this, first go to the menu. Then type in square, square, circle, circle, square, square, circle, circle. The following will appear: "Type: 0 Msg: 0". Pressing up begins to scroll through lines. The type number corresponds to the character, the message number corresponds to which line. You can only press up to change the message, not type, so you have to scroll through all of one character's lines before reaching the next character. To exit you must re-enter the code. The level's original music will be switched to whatever line you left it at. This will loop repeatedly until you enter another level, hub or area.
This was found by YouTuber PoloDewen, who has several other neat Spyro videos, most of them are hacks, however, but still worth checking out!
