Decent, but how quickly Spyro rises and falls considering his last review was a 7.6.

There are some decent looking FMVs but the rest of the game looks fairly average with low polygon characters and environments. The particle effects used in the game look stunning though. Sound: Garry Oldman, and Elijah Wood return to reprise their roles as Ignitus and Spyro while Billy West voices Sparx. The soundtrack is epic but the low quality voice overs and sound effects lower the experience. Gameplay: A similar combat system from last year but with new breath attacks, improved AI and the new Dragon Time ability. There are a few puzzles throughout the game but they are fairly simple. Lifespan: Although the combat system can get repetitive over time, the game’s story is interesting enough to keep you engaged. Overall: If you liked A New Beginning, then there is little reason why you shouldn’t pick up The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. The game uses the same basic combat system and adds a few new elements to it. Just don’t go expecting too much more. |
