Game Informer Dumps a 6.25/10 on Wii TEN
The review listed on the Game Informer site under the Wii version is word-for-word with the PS2 review. No, it's not a mistake... they scored the Wii version the same based off the PS2 version. They just copied and pasted the review from the PS2 version. That further proves why they shouldn't be critics (there are many other reasons why in my biased opinion). The Wii version has slightly improved textures (as it's graphics engine is higher than the PS2's) and the control with the Wii remote is more responsive and smooth (not to mention more fun). It also allows play with the classic controller. It's not the exact same game yet they copied the review. There's much to be angry about.
I found the copy of Game Informer on the store shelf and checked it myself, the November Issue has the same review as the October issue that reviewed the PS2 iteration. I can't believe they'd just pass on the same score. Okami is a PS2 platformer type game that is being ported to Wii. Virtually nothing will change, the developers themselves said the only change will be the controls. Sounds like TEN, but I bet they will do a whole new review, maybe even with a different reviewer. They just didn't see Spyro as worth there time so they shoveled the same score over. I can't imagine what would happen if someone like IGN did that...assumed that the version of let's say a Sonic game for the PS3 was the same on the Wii and rated them the same. They'd get tons of flak for it. I'm very perturbed by this. I don't care if it's Halo or Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary a game is a game and I know they can argue they only have so much time for each one but to shovel over a score across platforms is inexcusable. In case any of you missed it last time this is how the review looked:
How unprofessional.
